Three-days, all levels, oil painting
Qiang's approach to plein air painting will be demonstrated with particular focus on selecting a dramatic composition, simplifying it, observing the light distribution and using bold and loose strokes to create a powerful and accurate representation on canvas. Using demonstrations and individual assistance, Qiang will explain his process for creating energetic paintings by manipulating values, colors, edges and brushwork. Personal attention will be given to each student according to his or her current skill level and personal goals in art. The workshop is designed for outdoor practice painting from life, weather permitting. We will paint indoors using photos in the case of inclement weather.
Qiang's Bio:
Qiang Huang (pronounced as Chong Wong) came from China. He has studied art from multiple master artists. His paintings show remarkable accuracy and expressive brush strokes. He has participated Plein Air competitions in Easton MD and Sedona AZ, and won awards. Since 2004 his paintings have been selected continuously for the Oil Painters of America's National Juried Exhibitions. Qiang's art has been featured in multiple art magazines. He has demonstrated landscape painting in Plein Air Conventions two times.

Register with a deposit of $200 which will hold your place. The balance of $195 will be due on October 10, 2018. First come, first served. These workshops often sell out quickly so get your deposit in as soon as possible to assure your spot. Postmark date will determine sequence of registration. If the workshop is full, you will go on the waiting list and if you do not get in your check or payment will be returned.
If you find out you cannot attend and notify us at least 30 days prior to the workshop you will receive a full refund. If you notify us less than 30 days before the workshop the deposit cannot be refunded. After the workshop starts no tuition can be refunded.
