Art Supply List for Qiang's Workshop
Welcome to my painting workshop. Following is a list of items you will need:
Brushes
You don't have to use exactly the same brushes I use. Similar types and sizes will do.
1. Bristle Brushes
Flat #10, #8, #6, and #2 Signet, Rosemarry, Pro Stoke, or whatever band
2. Synthetic Brushes
Bright or flat 3/4", 1/2". 1/4" wide. I like Qualita Shader by Creative Mark (from Jerry's Artarana)
3. Liner Brushes
#0 Beste Liner by Creative Mark (from Jerry's)
Palette Knife:
Need one for color mixing. No special requirement.
Colors:
Titanium White, Naples Yellow (Light), Yellow Ochre, Cadmium Yellow Light, Cadmium Yellow Deep, Cadmium Orange, Cadmium Red Light, Alizarin Crimson, Permanent (or Quinacridone) Rose, Transparent Oxide Red (or Burnt Sienna), Ultramarine Blue, Pthalo Blue, Manganese Violet, Viridian, Cadmium Green (Pale). I use Gamblin, Rembrant, Grumbacher, and Winsor & Newton, but other brands are fine too.
Medium:
Gamsol and Linseed oil.
Canvas and Panels
Oil or Acrylic (Gesso) primed canvases and panels. For stretched canvases, I like Centurion fine linen. I also make my own oil primed panels.
Choose the size you feel comfortable with. 6"x8", 8"x10", 9"x12", 11"x14" and 12"x16" are preferred.
Portable Easel:
No special requirement
Paper towels:
Bounty brand
Bring still-life objects and solid dark, and dull (gray, black, white) cloth for a drapery.
